How to Get a Football Coaching Job

So you are trying to choose a career path and are considering a football coaching jobs. This job is about pure, un-adulterated love of the game and shaping the young minds of our youth. It is also about school and town pride. This is especially true in certain parts of the country where everyone sleeps, eats and truly lives football. You have to be ready to be the be all end all. If the team does well, you are a king so to speak. But if the team doesn’t do well, even just for a short period of time, you may very well lose your job. Being a football coach is about passion, inspiration and a deep understanding of the game. So how do you achieve that coaching career dream? Here are a few guidelines to help you get there.

First, you need to know your stuff. You must have a deep, intense understanding of the game. Sound obvious, not to all. It’s not just about being able to follow those Monday night games, you need to study it and be comfortable enough with it to teach others. Treat it as professionals in any business do, as your profession. So, as a chef knows their recipes, you know your plays.

Next you need to make sure that this is the right path for you. This is one of those lucky careers where you can easily try it out first. Do this by volunteering to be a coach or assistant coach in the community. If you’re still a little shaky in your knowledge still, an assistant may be a better first choice.

Once you’ve done this and are even more fired up to be a professional coach, decide which avenue of coaching you would like to pursue. If you limit yourself to private or religious schools for example, you may not need any schooling or certifications. If you would like to be a high school or college coach however, you will need a BS in an area of teaching. Any area will do fine, but most choose P.E.

After you’ve graduated and have volunteered throughout your schooling, apply to local Junior and senior high schools for a spot on the coaching team. Many schools have offensive and defensive coordinators as well as assistant and head coaches. After a few years as a coordinator and then as an assistant, it will be time to apply for a head coaching position.

Old Trafford Football Ground is located at – Sir Matt Busby Way, Old Trafford, Manchester. Sir Matt Busby Way was created in 1993, and was formerly known as Warwick Road North.

The ground’s nickname is the Theatre Of Dreams.

Old Trafford has been Manchester United’s home since 1910, with the exception of an eight-year period from 1941 to 1949, when it was bombed in the second world war. During that period United played their ‘home’ games at the ground of their rivals, Manchester City – at a financial cost of course. They had to pay City for the privilege consisting of a flat fee, and a gate percentage.

Old Trafford’s current capacity is over 76,000. It’s hoped that in time it will expand even further to 90,000 with greater capacity in the South Stand.

The ground has frequently hosted FA Cup semi-final matches as a neutral venue and several England international fixtures while the new Wembley Stadium was under construction. Before Wembley Stadium was built in 1923 the FA Cup Finals were played around the country, with Old Trafford hosting several of these.

Manchester United were formerly called Newton Heath, but it was decided in 1909 to build a new stadium. Designed by Scottish architect Archibald Leitch, the ground featured seating in the south stand under cover, while the remaining three stands were uncovered terraces.

In 1965 the old roof pillars were replaced with modern-style cantilevering on top of the roof, allowing all spectators a completely unobstructed view. This was an important step, as the World Cup was to be staged in the UK in the following year, 1966. Old Trafford was one of the venues used for the tournament.

By the 1980′s the capacity had dropped to around 60,000 due to all the improvements in the ground. The capacity dropped still further in 1990, when the Taylor Report recommended, for safety reasons, and with the Government’s agreement, that all stadia be converted to all-seaters.

Old Trafford’s most recent expansion, which took place between July 2005 and May 2006, saw an increase of around 8,000 seats with the addition of second tiers to both the north-west and north-east sections of the ground.

Further redevelopments saw United buy up additional land round about.

The Old Trafford pitch is now surrounded by four covered all-seater stands, officially known as the North, East, South and West Stands. The West End is the ‘Stretford End’ where the diehard, most vocal, United fans sit.

On 29 May 2008, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Manchester United’s first European Cup title, a statue of the club’s old stars of George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton, entitled “The United Trinity”, was unveiled across Sir Matt Busby Way from the East Stand.

The ground continues to break attendance records. The newer Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal FC, has a lower capacity, just over 60,000. Only one football ground has a higher capacity than the Theatre of Dreams, and that’s at the new Wembley Stadium in London.

Manchester United supporters have an insatiable appetite for watching their team play. It seems that however big the ground gets, the seats will almost always be filled. That’s what success on the pitch does for this wonderful game, and this glorious team that is Manchester United.

Colorado Buffaloes College Football Tickets Available

In 1890, football was introduced into the Colorado Buffalo College?s athletics program. Representing the University of Colorado in Boulder, the earliest team games were played against Utah and the School of Mines. Currently headed by Coach Dan Hawkins, the Colorado Buffaloes College Football Team is a member of the North Division in the Big 12 conference. In the North Division Championship, it has won four times in 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005 respectively. The team has won numerous games and ranks 16th on the all-time win list and 22nd in winning percentage. Their standing has been 280-132-10 at home.

Their home games are played at the horse-shoe shaped Folsom field, which is located in their campus and named after one of the most renowned football coaches Fred Folsom. The stadium was built in 1924 and ever since, all their games have been played in the said stadium, including games with their bitter rival Nebraska. Other competing schools like Colorado State, Missouri, and Kansas State are also on the list. The stadium?s current seating capacity is 53,750. The Buffaloes? school colors are silver, gold and black, which represent the mineral wealth of the state. The team was also called ?Silver Helmets? and ?Frontiersmen? by the press people before finally changing it to the ?Buffaloes.? The name ?Buffaloes? was coined after a homecoming game against Utah.

Like Folsom, the team has also created a lot of notable football personalities, including The list of greats include Byron White (who did not only make it big as a football player but was also appointed associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States), Kordell Stewart, Alfred Williams, Daniel Graham, Eric Bieniemy (member of CU’s prestigious 25-member “All-Century Football Team,” and the only active player at the time to be selected to the group honoring the first 100 years of Colorado Buffalo football), Michael Westbrook, Dick Anderson (who was later elevated to the Hall of Fame and now part of the Miami Dolphins? Honor Roll), Mark Haynes, Dave Logan, former New York Mets catcher John Stearns and PGA Tour golfer Hale Irwin. Other Hall of Famers include Joe Romig are Bobby Anderson (who is the brother of Dick Anderson).

In 1990, they shared the national championship title with Georgia Tech, which they won under the direction of the head coach Bill McCartney. It was also in 1990 that they were awarded an Associated Press National Championship. Other success of the team include eight Colorado Football Association Championships, once Colorado Faculty Athletic Conference, 7 RMFAC Championships, among others.

Present at all football games is the school?s mascot Ralphie, which is a buffalo that leads the entire football team onto the football field during the first half and the second half. In any sport, it is always exciting to watch opposing teams battle it out for a championship title. Some people find it very easy to select tickets for any NFL football game held in their town. They have their favorite team that trains everyday in their hometown and they know the stadium layout by heart. Picking the seats for those tickets only takes a few minutes, and they can go to the football stadium and buy as many tickets as they please or buy them through retail outlets on the internet and know exactly where they will be seated.

Other people have a very hard time in selecting tickets for NFL football games. They might want to choose a game that is in their hometown but are unsure about the seating charts used for the stadium. There are so many tiers and so many boxes to consider and such a large seating area to pick from that these football fans have to stop and stare a while at the chart that they were given before giving the person behind the counter an answer.

Some people get confused when they are shown seating charts by the stadium staff because they really do not understand very much about football as a sporting event. They might understand that NFL football is one of the favorite sports for millions of people around the world but they are not really sure which seats are fans seats and which ones are reserved for family and friends.

All these people know about selecting tickets for an NFL football game is that they are lucky to find them. From the number of people that they have heard talking and complaining about the sell out crowds that they had to fight to get tickets, they naturally assumed that there would be no seats to pick from when they wandered into the stadium box office to check on the situation.

Some football fans are very familiar with buying tickets to NFL football games. They regularly buy them from many places and know how to read the seating charts that go with each stadium. Most of the fans know to ask for tickets that are on the 50-yard line because that is the best place in the entire stadium to see an ample amount of football action that is achieved by both sides.

True football fans learn all about their favorite team and the stadiums that they play in. They know how to navigate to the locker room doors to wait for an autograph that at times may take hours. Some football fans know to show up for a game early so that they can enjoy the tailgate parties, and when selecting tickets for NFL football games they know how to find the best seats in the house.
