Adidas have been known for premium sports branding in the past, sponsoring and supporting the best upcoming or current athletes with only their premium sports wear. So who better to sponsor and use as your trade mark than the legendary Steven Gerrard to promote the newest Adidas Predator Football Boots.
In the latest ad Steven Gerrard attempts to knock out a clay pigeon with a football, launched from the usual machine and no other help except his right foot and some Adidas Predators. Admittedly it was a hard task from the beginning, but the advertisement suggests that Gerrard hit the clay pigeon from what looks like a good 150 yards, on just his second attempt.
With precision and accuracy at this level, its no wonder Steven Gerrard is classed as one of the most solid and supportive of players to be lining up next to on a football field to date. Gerrard has found him self in the spot light more and more over the last few months, mainly due to his increase in support from fans, and increase in popularity from both England and Liverpool Football Club team Managers.
This is meant to be the start of many similar advertisements, featuring the one and only Xavi as his wing man and clay pigeon puller. Similar advertisements such as the Ballack Adidas advert released recently are set up in the pipeline and scheduled for screening over the next few months, although the victim in the Ballack ad will be hoping aims to get the ball through the hop next time, rather than at his personal possessions.
