Liverpool Football Club is the most winning club in English football history, having won eighteen league titles and been crowned champions of Europe on 5 occasions, including the remarkable victory of 2005. Liverpool Football Club is a professional club based in Liverpool, in the north west of England. For millions, Liverpool Football Club is a special place and this is its own special story. Not wishing to offend anyone but supporting Liverpool Football Club is more akin to a religion than a plain interest.

Liverpool City

Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is the largest cathedral in Britain and the fifth largest on the planet. Liverpool is home to the oldest Chinese and African community in Europe. Liverpool carried out and financed the 1st ever Atlantic telecommunication cable in 1886. Liverpool is home to the Grand National, the most renowned steeplechase in the world. The Liverpool Hotel and Hotel Liverpool as well as the Liverpool Adelphi are great places to reside and you’ll be in reach of Liverpool Restaurants and other attractions. Whatever you do, you’ll need a map of Liverpool to find your way around the old city. Don’t forget to visit the excellent Tate Gallery in Liverpool, this is situated at the redeveloped Albert Dock.

Club

Club followers from Asia know as much about Liverpool FC as some of the best well-versed and most faithfull fans in the UK. Clubs that frequently win high-profile trophies make more coverage, both at home and aboard, and command much higher costs. On July 30, 2004, the Liverpool City Council gave the club planning permission to construct a new 60,000 seat stadium, nearby at Stanley Park. Numerous clubs have moved to new grounds in the last 10 years. Liverpool Football Club is the most successful club in the history of English football.

Football

Football has always been watched by all classes, this working class vibe is more attached to particular clubs than it is to the game as a whole. While the word Liverpool clearly denotes the city of Liverpool in the United Kingdom, and elsewhere, the name Liverpool FC is, in its ordinary signification, linked exclusively with the Liverpool Football Club. I count myself extremely lucky to have been around during the fabulous years after promotion back into the 1st Division, proud to have great memories of wonderful times, Bill Shankly, Joe Mercer, Don Revie and the players of the era and say good luck to the new world of scouse Football.

Anfield

Anfield itself is vastly different to what it looked like 2, 5 and 10 years ago not to mention 20, 50 or even 100 years ago. The highlight for many, however, is the possibility to walk down the famous players’ tunnel and touch the famous ‘This is Anfield’ sign. The Anfield atmosphere, history and fabric is all part of the club. The fact is that LFC is Anfield and Anfield is LFC. The club offers tours of its stadium, Anfield, which include a visit to the dressing rooms and a seat in the team dugouts.

European

European triumphs at the Stadio Olympico, Stad de Lutz and as recently as the Westfalenstadion are witness to what Liverpool Football Club is all about. The club was present at two of the biggest tragedies in European football — at Heysel in 1985 and Hillsborough in 1989. Liverpool made their first impact on the European circuit in 1973 with a UEFA Cup triumph, as well as winning another league title that season. In recent years, the city has emphasised its cultural attractions, winning the honour of European City of Culture for 2008.
